The Defence of Fort McHenry

Many Americans do not know the full four verses to the National Anthem. I have posted the full poem here by Francis Scott Key which was originally entitled, “The Defence of Fort McHenry”. The poem was put to music on November 20, 1814 and renamed “The Star Spangled Banner”. It was made the National Anthem by Congress on March 3, 1931. In my opinion, the final verse is the most important and compelling verse. It says that we freemen must thank the Power that has made us free, and we must conquer those who would destroy this nation when our cause is just, which it is.

Oh, say can you see by the dawn’s early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe’s haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o’er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning’s first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
‘Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more!
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps’ pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war’s desolation!

The Religion Wars – Win Some, Lose Some

In the constant battle to keep religion free from government interference (and keep freedom of religion) there have been a lot of ups and downs. Most recently, the Supreme Court of The United States (SCOTUS) ruled in favor of churches. The stunning, unanimous, 9-0 ruling by SCOTUS favored the rights of the church to hire or fire who they want to lead their church. Even the liberal justices ruled in favor of the churches. The case revolved around the EEOC trying to force a church to rehire a pastor it had fired. Talk about un-Constitutional interference with religious freedom!

President Obama’s Equal Employment Opportunity Commission claimed during oral arguments before the U.S. Supreme Court last week that it can order a church to restore a fired minister to a teaching position.

The EEOC did not expect what happened next:

At this, Scalia exploded. “That’s extraordinary! There, black on white in the text of the Constitution, are special protections for religion. And you say it makes no difference?”

Kagan agreed with Scalia’s rejection of the argument that the First Amendment doesn’t protect churches from government ordering who they should hire as pastor or priest.

It really isn’t surprising that that SCOTUS ruled in favor this way, what is surprising is that even the most liberal justice, Elena Kagan appointed by Obama, also ruled in favor of the churches. The EEOC got the smack down pretty hard. As they should have.

Writing the court’s opinion, Chief Justice John Roberts said, “Allowing anti-discrimination lawsuits against religious organizations could end up forcing churches to take religious leaders they no longer want.”

“Such action interferes with the internal governance of the church, depriving the church of control over the selection of those who will personify its beliefs,” Roberts said. “By imposing an unwanted minister, the state infringes the Free Exercise Clause, which protects a religious group’s right to shape its own faith and mission through its appointments.”

But, Roberts said, since this was the first time the high court has ever considered the “ministerial exception,” it would not set hard and fast rules on who can be considered a religious employee of a religious organization.

“We are reluctant … to adopt a rigid formula for deciding when an employee qualifies as a minister,” he said. “It is enough for us to conclude, in this, our first case involving the ministerial exception, that the exception covers (Cheryl) Perich, given all the circumstances of her employment.”

The State of New Jersey however, has ruled that churches cannot deny access to their property if, as in this following case, a homosexual couple wants to marry there. This is shocking because church property is private property and the government has no business stating that non-church members can use church property if the church denies access for any reason. New Jersey calls it discrimination. Really? A church denying access to private property to homosexuals because of religious beliefs is discrimination? New Jersey need to look at the full context of the recent SCOTUS case mentioned above. Courts Say Christian Church Not Allowed to Practice Christianity.

Guess what Jersey is saying is if a group of homosexuals want to have an orgy on church property the church can’t say no because it is discrimination. But the church can deny anybody else if they want. Another example of homosexuals forcing their way upon the church and Christians. That was bad enough, but the church also lost their tax exemption status over that case. Another example of a court deciding for Christians what they can and cannot believe in and what they can and cannot preach or practice on private property.

One good ruling, one bad.

Barack Obama is committing treason in desperation. Knowing that he may not get re-elected, Barack Obama is doing whatever he wants. The New Year is starting off well for the man who wants to kill America.

Which comes on the heels of this insane announcement, Obama to Cut 80,000 Troops from U.S. Army, More than 20,000 from Marine Corps. As the King decimates the military, he clams it is for the good of the military and that the military will still be able to function just the same and protect America just the same with fewer personnel and a smaller budget. Meanwhile Obama gives $55 Million to the Palestinians. But, Obama: the US can no longer fight the world’s battles he says. So which is it Commander-in-Treason? The military can or can’t to the same job?

Really very serious here. This is what troubles the GOP. Too much infighting. My daddy is better than your daddy crap, and the candidate he supports is better than the candidate you support. Ever see Megan’s comment where she says that no family knows war like her family, nobody! Yeah Megan, like, we know, like, your daddy is a war hero, but you know, like, you overplay that. There are greater war heroes currently living among us. I have met a few. They served in an ugly nasty war called WWII in Europe. Maybe you should watch Band of Brothers. Or talk to my buddy Chris, a former Navy Corpsman who survived the bombing of the Marine barracks in Beirut, Lebanon in 1983 and got shot while trying to save the lives of injured Marines trapped in the rubble. He had to do field amputations of Marines. That means he had to cut their legs off while under fire because they were trapped and that was the only way to get them out.

This bickering in the GOP must end. The GOP must come together. Period.

This quick Facebook ramble of mine sorta goes along with my pervious post.

Frankly none of the candidates are fit for the presidency. They all have too much past baggage and dirt, none are true conservatives. None truly want a Constitutionally limited federal gov as the founders meant it to be. I can’t and won’t endorse ANY of them. We feel we have to settle for the lesser evil. We shouldn’t settle for the lesser, we should demand the better. But who is that? No one.

The GOP has become weak and cowardly and will not truly stand up to Obama, nor will they get the guts to impeach him. There has been more than adequate evidence to try him for treason. But they won’t shake the tree. They have their own lust for power and greed for money, but try to hide that behind their fake tears and fake outcry of indignance at Obama. If they truly meant what they say, they would have impeached Obama. But then Bumbling Biden would move up. So what does this leave us with? An America that will never recover.

Republicans and Ron Paul Supporters Not Immune To Kool-Aid

Republicans have been infected by the highly infectious disease know as “Drinking the Kool-Aid”. The worst of all of them are the very ardent and unreasoning Ron Paul supporters. Somebody started calling them the Ronulans (after Star Trek’s Romulans who are an offshoot of the unfeeling Vulcans). The Ron Paul supporters are as bad if not worse than the Obama Kool-Aid drinkers.

Try having a discussion with a Ron Paul supporter and you will be greeted with a viscious backlash that would make liberals and the Wall Street supporters cringe. Name calling and cursing are the only argument you will receive when showing a Ron Paul supporter that they are wrong about something. Or that you are right. Other Republican presidential candidates, such as Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich, have the same cult following too.

The lack of listening and reasoning have hit the Republicans hard causing a fracturing of the GOP. This will hurt badly in the long run, and if these Kool-Aid drinkers keep this up, they will enable an Obama re-election. This will be bad for America. The Democrats haven’t made too much of a fuss yet over the GOP fracturing into different factions that are vehemently opposed to each other. They are just sitting back and watching for the victor so they can go on the attack as soon as a clear winner for GOP Presidential Candidate is declared.

It is going to get ugly within the GOP as time goes on. When the candidate has been chosen, it will get even uglier as the liberal, leftwing, Obama worshipping Democrats go into full out attack mode as they did to Sarah Palin. They have that down well. As we saw during the last Presidential election, the GOP was too weak and wimpy to put the smack down on Obama’s past. And the GOP is still too wimpy to go and do what they should have done back then.

As far as I am concerned, none of the current GOP wannabes are worthy of the job. Not one of them is a true conservative. Among them all they either want un-Constitutional mandated healthcare, or bigger government, or nukes for Iran, or the end of the Jewish State of Israel, or they support the Palestinians and so on. Basically, they are all RINOs (Republican In Name Only).

We have no future.

A Clear and Present Evil

There is a dangerous precedent that has been set in politics that has us thinking that we must settle for the lesser of all evils for President. Unfortunately, all evil is equal. There is no lesser evil in the Presidency anymore, and we must get away from that as a people and start demanding that our politicians be what we demand them to be; not evil, not overlords, not tyrants, nor dictators, but workers FOR the people. We should never have to settle for a “lesser evil”.

How do we do this? By another complete revolution? I don’t believe we can because the politicians have slickly thrown in so many un-Constutional “laws” that will be supported by the U.S. Supreme Court liberal justices, we have not a chance. Any dissent will be put down, severely.

Most recently, Congress passed legislation that allows any American citizen to be held for life without any due process. The crime for this can be as simple as you or I stating that we do not trust the government. We are then considered possible terrorists and the government, in violation of the Constitution, will throw us in jail without any due process if they so wish. In essence, the 1st Amendment has been rendered null and void. Speaking against the government is now officially a crime. American citizens can now be detained without due process or warrant indefinitely. Previously done by Hitler.

Wake up folks. My mother’s father fled Hitler’s Nazi Germany and brought his family here to America along with many other family members. Those who are still alive say that we are going down the exact same path that Hitler took them down, with most of these un-Constitutional actions being done in secret, just like Hitler did.

Hillary Clinton was in secret meetings with the UN working to curb free speech under the guise of stopping criticism of Islam (officially adopted by the UN this week). A journalist was detained for trying to cover it. Hitler did the same type of free speech squelching by stopping criticism of himself and and his policies by creating these type of laws IN SECRET.

The Obama administration has been working in secret with the UN to find a back door way of taking away our guns. If they do enter some type of treaty with the UN, they will come for our guns in violation of the Constitution.

Control of the banks and the money was slickly accomplished too. When the Federal Reserve was created, then President Woodrow Wilson immediately regretted that decision.

John F. Kennedy was assassinated because he was about to dissolve the Federal Reserve which would have taken much of the monetary power from the banks and the Feds and put it back in the hands of the people.

Military officers have the authority to what they need to do to soldiers who disobey an order whether the soldier thinks it is lawful or not. Under Hitler, the troops were controlled by fear. Failure to follow an order, lawful or not, resulted in that soldier usually being shot on the spot.

Now that may or may not happen here, I do know that not one of my Marine Corps buddies would ever take up arms against the people. Ever. But all you need is enough to follow in any branch of the military and it will get real ugly rather quickly. Don’t think it can happen here do you? Nobody thought it would happen in Germany either.

My family that fled Germany says that my very religious grandfather was also as patriotic about Germany then as many of us are about America today. He fled with his family because he could not take what was happening.

The only people who are nuts here, are the ones who don’t believe it can happen here. We had these same issues before, only we kicked the Brits out and declared ourselves a free and independent nation. What we are up against now is worse than what our Founding Fathers fought. Far worse.

So why can’t we defeat and overcome? Because we as a people in general haven’t got the guts to stand up to the power lusting politicians. We hear those who say they speak for us make promises we want to hear, so we re-elect them, and then they turn on us. In turn we do nothing. Nothing at all. We just keep on re-electing he status quo.

There is no real revolution coming in the US. We have had our chances over and over again. Instead we let the media portray the modern day hippies protesting capitalism as heroes knowing full well that they are nothing more than lawless thugs getting away (literally) with murder. They are using the very products of the capitalism they protest, and feed it with their dollars non-stop. While protesting. Hey, let’s order cappuccinos on our iPhones while surfing the web with our iPads while updating our blogs with our MacBook Pros, while protesting the rich, capitalist, corporate pigs like Apple.

There is without question, a danger we are facing that is far worse than what the Founders of this nation faced. The Founders had a clear enemy who made their intentions well known regarding the colonies. Military rule, high taxes, and no due process were the way of King George. When the colonists began to rebel, King George tried to clamp down on them. His biggest mistake was letting the leaders of this new world see what was coming. The Founders tried their hardest to avoid war, but they knew in their hearts war was not a matter of if, but when.

Now we have the same tactics, but they are being snuck in under the guise of “It is for the benefit of society.” And so the uneducated sheeple believe and willingly give up liberty for security not realizing that they will indeed, wind up with neither.

Virus Infects Computers and Mammals

The 01 RFR virus infected my laptop over a year ago rendering it completely useless. Out of my control, this 10 year old virus infected and killed a deer instantly last night. The virus survived intact. This is a tough third strain virus from the same family.

The first two only infected deer. They were the 82 BFB Virus and the 92 RF-F150 Virus. Official names are the 82 Blue Ford Bronco Virus, the 92 Red Ford F-150 Virus, and the 01 Red Ford Ranger Virus.

Watch out Deer family. The Ford family does not like you. Doesn’t like Apples either.

Just call me the deer slayer. And the big Mac Daddy killer.

Islam, Coming To A School Near You

I have been screaming for years now that Barack Obama is a closet Muslim. I have been screaming for years that Islam and Sharia Law WILL be forced on us. I have been screaming for years that our children are being brainwashed by our schools.

It is now all coming together. Obama’s Muslim roots and preference, the Muslim groups in the US that want Sharia (Islamic) Law to be the Rule of Law in the United States of America, and now the teaching (brainwashing/indoctrination) of Islam in our schools.

To fight homegrown terrorism, Obama to embed Islam in schools.

This is a falsehood. This isn’t about fighting “homegrown” terrorism, this is about forcing Islam on our children. This will not fight terrorism, this will promoted good little Jihadists who just can’t wait to die for their new false prophet, Obama.

This is coming from the very same people who want Christianity and the True God out of every aspect of government and schools and our daily lives. These are the same people who say religion has no place in government or schools, yet willingly, openly, and quite transparently invite Islam into the same aspect of everything they want Christianity out of. These are the same people who believe in seperation of church and state, with the exception of Islam.

How can you promote Islam as being the religion that will save the world when it is the one and only religion destroying the world? By being a follower of Islam, a true believer. What more proof do you need?

A Letter to Obama

Dear President Obama,

My name is Harold Estes, approaching 95 on December 13 of this year. People meeting me for the first time don’t believe my age because I remain wrinkle free and pretty much mentally alert.

I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1934 and served proudly before, during and after WW II retiring as a Master Chief Bos’n Mate. Now I live in a “rest home” located on the western end of Pearl Harbor , allowing me to keep alive the memories of 23 years of service to my country.

One of the benefits of my age, perhaps the only one, is to speak my mind, blunt and direct even to the head man.

So here goes.

I am amazed, angry and determined not to see my country die before I do, but you seem hell bent not to grant me that wish.

I can’t figure out what country you are the president of. You fly around the world telling our friends and enemies despicable lies like:

” We’re no longer a Christian nation”
” America is arrogant” – (Your wife even announced to the world,” America is mean-spirited. ” Please tell her to try preaching that nonsense to 23 generations of our war dead buried all over the globe who died for no other reason than to free a whole lot of strangers from tyranny and hopelessness.)

I’d say shame on the both of you, but I don’t think you like America, nor do I see an ounce of gratefulness in anything you do, for the obvious gifts this country has given you. To be without shame or gratefulness is a dangerous thing for a man sitting in the White House.

After 9/11 you said,” America hasn’t lived up to her ideals.”

Which ones did you mean? Was it the notion of personal liberty that 11,000 farmers and shopkeepers died for to win independence from the British? Or maybe the ideal that no man should be a slave to another man, that 500,000 men died for in the Civil War? I hope you didn’t mean the ideal 470,000 fathers, brothers, husbands, and a lot of fellas I knew personally died for in WWII, because we felt real strongly about not letting any nation push us around, because we stand for freedom.

I don’t think you mean the ideal that says equality is better than discrimination. You know the one that a whole lot of white people understood when they helped to get you elected.

Take a little advice from a very old geezer, young man.

Shape up and start acting like an American. If you don’t, I’ll do what I can to see you get shipped out of that fancy rental on Pennsylvania Avenue . You were elected to lead not to bow, apologize and kiss the hands of murderers and corrupt leaders who still treat their people like slaves.

And just who do you think you are telling the American people not to jump to conclusions and condemn that Muslim major who killed 13 of his fellow soldiers and wounded dozens more. You mean you don’t want us to do what you did when that white cop used force to subdue that black college professor in Massachusetts , who was putting up a fight? You don’t mind offending the police calling them stupid but you don’t want us to offend Muslim fanatics by calling them what they are, terrorists.

One more thing. I realize you never served in the military and never had to defend your country with your life, but you’re the Commander-in-Chief now, son. Do your job. When your battle-hardened field General asks you for 40,000 more troops to complete the mission, give them to him. But if you’re not in this fight to win, then get out. The life of one American soldier is not worth the best political strategy you’re thinking of.

You could be our greatest president because you face the greatest challenge ever presented to any president.

You’re not going to restore American greatness by bringing back our bloated economy. That’s not our greatest threat. Losing the heart and soul of who we are as Americans is our big fight now.
And I sure as hell don’t want to think my president is the enemy in this final battle…

God On Liberty

God on liberty and what will happen to those who take it away.

Jeremiah 34:15 And ye were now turned, and had done right in my sight, in proclaiming liberty every man to his neighbour; and ye had made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name: 16 But ye turned and polluted my name, and caused every man his servant, and every man his handmaid, whom ye had set at liberty at their pleasure, to return, and brought them into subjection, to be unto you for servants and for handmaids. 17 Therefore thus saith the LORD; Ye have not hearkened unto me, in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother, and every man to his neighbour: behold, I proclaim a liberty for you, saith the LORD, to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.

Pretty much to the point and final. If he is really a Christian, Obama should be trembling. After all, he thinks he knows The Bible so well he preaches about the poor to us from it. Of course he takes it out of context.

Puppet and master. Gepetto and Pinocchio. Obama just makes me sick with his entitlement speeches of fair share, sacrifice, and spreading the wealth. The only place our tax money is going is to his cronies and friends. His thugs. His lackeys. His brainwashed, kook aid drinking, Neanderthal buddies and entitlement followers. For the rest of us. Obama Looking to Channel Teddy Roosevelt With Speech on Paying ‘Fair Share’

Because I say I am, therefore, I am

With Herman Cain currently out of the GOP presidential bidding war, the remaining candidates are now in all out scramble mode to pick up the Cain voters. Only problem is, they are boasting about themselves, and that really turns me off.

For instance, take these statements from Michelle Bachman, “One thing we’ve seen a lot of is Herman Cain supporters have been calling our office and they’ve been coming over to our side,” Bachmann told CNN’s “State of the Union” program, adding “part of that is because people see that I’m the tea party candidate in the race and they saw Herman Cain as an outsider and I think they see that my voice would be the one that would be most reflective of his.”

Come on, seriously! “I’m the tea party candidate in the race.” Who decided that Michelle, you?

Or this, “They’re going to see of all of the candidates, I’m the one that doesn’t have the political surprises,” she said.

All candidates have surprises Michelle, all of you. None of you are perfect, yet you all try to convince us you are, and you all try to make us think that you appeal to each faction within the conservative arena and the GOP. You can’t appeal to all of us.

Another nice tidbit, “We’ve had the flavors of the month up and down so far in this campaign. I’d like to think of myself as the flavor of the decade.” This from candidate Ron Paul.

Insert heavy sigh here. I just cannot get over some of the stupid things these candidates are saying. I know it all may sound trivial to some, but I want some real substance from the person who is trying to convince me to vote them as the next presidential candidate for the GOP.

More from the man with two first names, “You know, I would say that if the people in Iowa wouldn’t consider me a good option to beat Obama I wouldn’t be a close second in there,” Paul said. “So, it is already reflecting a favorable rating for that. But I think you point out — maybe you’re giving me subtly some good advice, ‘You better keep working.’ And that is what we have to convince the primary voters that we can do a good job in the general and that, of course, is part of the campaign.”

That is such a nonsense statement. Pure crap. It says nothing at all. Has no meat. Neither does the following make any sense.

“There are a lot of people who call themselves tea party people that did like the independent mindedness of Herman Cain,” Paul said. “So, I think that we’ll probably do better, even though some people are saying, ‘Oh, no, they’re all going to go to so-and-so.’ We’re paying a lot of attention to that, because obviously they’re going to go somewhere in the next week or so. That’s going to happen.”

Well duh. Oh my word. What is wrong with these candidates?

Or how about Mitt Romney, “I’ve not been in politics so long that I’ve inhaled. I’m a business guy.”

Romney opted not weigh in on whether he thought Herman Cain’s departure from the campaign trail would boost his campaign or one of his opponents.

“I don’t know the political calculations,” Romney said during an interview with Fox News.

Calculations? Geez, just say something that makes sense like, “I’m sure that each candidate will receive Cain voters, how many will go to each is hard to say at this point.”

Newt, “I think one of the great problems we have in the Republican Party is that we don’t encourage you to be nasty. We encourage you to be neat, obedient, loyal and faithful and all those Boy Scout words, which would be great around a campfire, but are lousy in politics.”

This is a problem? This coming from someone who was married multiple times, had multiple affairs, and is currently married to one of the women he cheated with?

“I’m not going to say that any of my friends can’t suddenly surprise us.”

The sudden stop of the Cain Train, as some called his run, has all the candidates saying stupid things about themselves without really saying what they are going to do for the US. Stuck on stupid? Seems like it. Each candidate wants Cain voters so badly they are saying anything they think will attract his voter base. And people are buying their verbal solecisms without realizing that the candidates are really saying nothing, but are simply stating what all the candidates state without regard for the voters, “I’m the best choice for president because I say I am, therefore, I am.”

No One Left

No Republican candidate does anything for me. With the bowing out of the presidential race of Herman Cain, over what appears to be false accusations of sexual harrassement and affairs, there simply is no one left. No one.

Why?

Unfortunately, we the people (the ones responsible for watching for government abuses) have let this government become what it is today. Those of us now awake, watching, and reporting are being betrayed by nearly the entire party we feel should be addressing and fixing these issues. Advertisers fleeing ‘All-American Muslim’ ‘propaganda’

“All-American Muslim” a new program on The Learning Channel that is being touted as a “powerful series” that carries viewers “inside the rarely seen world of American Muslims,” is being dropped by advertisers.

Critics say the program is nothing more than video jihad propaganda, and officials with the Florida Family Association say they are contacting companies whose advertising appears on the show to ask them to quit. So far, 18 of 20 companies contacted have done so, officials said.

The organization said among the companies that initially supported the program, but later did not have any advertising aired, were Airborne Vitamin, Amway, Diamond Foods, Dyson Vacuum, Estee Lauder, HTC Phones, Home Depot, McDonald’s, Petsmart, Pfizer, Sears, Sonic, T-Mobil and Wal-Mart.

The Florida group said it sent out an email alert to constituents only a week ago, and they then contacted the sponsors.

This is disgusting. Boycott TLC. They are shoving Islam and it’s murderers down our throats and trying to make Islam appear palatable. They are holding up a MURDERER as “ALL AMERICAN!”
