A Memorial for a Dead DUCK?


Flint Journal and Flint, Michigan, you sure have your priorities in place I must say. The 29th homicide of the year gets relegated to page 2. Top stories are the quake and people moving out of Flint. The stupid duck that got shot with a bb gun made bigger news than the death of a human. No wonder Flint leads the nation in rate of population decline.

City of Flint council and other Flint leaders, when you get your priorities right, then and only then, can you do something to really save the people of Flint.

A memorial for a dead DUCK? Big news for a DEAD DUCK? Are you kidding me? People are literally dying in Flint, Michigan and a dead duck makes bigger news than the 29th homicide of the year! Where will number 30 go, back page? Probably. I like Flint and it’s automotive history, I really do, but the entire city council and mayor need to be reminded, that HUMAN LIFE is more precious than anything else.

God gave us dominion over the animals and everything else on Earth, but He gave us something more precious than all other things, He gave us the gift of LIFE itself. God puts human life above ALL other forms of life, and yes, that gift of life includes the UNBORN!

A duck is a duck and can be replaced. This is not news. The 22 year old man who was murdered in Flint yesterday and became the city’s 29th homicide cannot be replaced. THIS is news. Where has the respect for human life gone? Ever wonder why the donor organization calls itself, Gift of Life? Because life IS a gift. Life is precious. HUMAN life. Don’t get me wrong, animal abuse upsets me, but I don’t value the life of a duck over the life of a HUMAN, nor do I believe that people should get fined more for abusing an animal than for abusing a kid. This clearly defines how the values of our community have declined.
