Time To Chill A Little

Posted in drama by Wade Moline on September 30, 2009

There has been too much drama in my life, especially at work. I have also been neglecting other things in my life and need to get my priorities in order. Therefore I have eliminated my Twitter account and will concentrate on this site instead. If I go back to Twitter, it will be to post links to this site only.

Apple iPhone OS 3.1 – How To Push Out A Bad Update

Posted in iPhone by Wade Moline on September 26, 2009

Apple’s iPhone OS 3.1 really sucks. I mean that literally. It sucks down the iPhone battery so bad that the phone must be plugged in almost constantly while in use. Even in sleep mode it sucks down the battery. Thousands of iPhone users are experiencing this issue as I am. Apple needs to address this now and come out with an update that manages battery life better.

Too bad that isn’t the only issue I have been having, but it isn’t. When charging my iPhone, the phone gets extremely warm. Not warm enough to cause damage to the phone, but it is very noticeable. This can’t be good for the phone or the battery. I am certain that this will shorten the phone’s life as well as the battery life in the long run.

And there is more! I am constantly seeing Wi-Fi drop off for no reason. This is very annoying. This isn’t happening with just one Wi-Fi provider, I have this issue everywhere I can get Wi-Fi. Another very annoying issue I am having is the phone’s inability to recognize that I have a Wi-Fi signal when I am in an area that has no phone signal. There are several areas at work I cannot get a phone signal, and this isn’t just with AT&T, this is with all carriers. Dead Zones. Yes, even with Verizon. The problem is, even though the entire building has free Wi-Fi access everywhere, if I have no phone signal I cannot use the Wi-Fi. The phone thinks there is no signal at all and won’t let me access the internet even with a full Wi-Fi signal. This is driving me crazy.

To get the phone to recognize Wi-Fi with no carrier signal, I have to restart the phone. Aggravation is the least way to describe this issue. The battery issue is really bad. When I can watch the little battery logo go down while I am using it, that is not good at all. Constant use provides about one hour of battery time for games or video.

Apple’s mail has become so incredibly slow on the iPhone it has become totally useless to use. Instead, I have the servers forward my Apple mail account to my Google mail account. I can get my Google mail just fine on my iPhone, but not my Apple mail. This is another serious issue that really irks me. Fortunately the automatic mail forwarding feature works great and I still get my mail, but really, this is outrageous.

Apple, I hope you are listening! iPhone OS 3.1 sucks. This is the worst update I have ever encountered from you. You need to get your act together now and quit rushing these iPhone updates. You are following Microsoft’s update policy where each update only brings more problems to be fixed. Apple, you used to be good at updates. What happened? Getting too greedy maybe? Trying to rush things to make the customer happy? Well, you are rushing too fast. Slow down and do it right. I’d rather wait extra time and have it right than have an update now that almost completely kills my phone.

Are you listening Steve Jobs? Because in a nutshell, while each iPhone OS update brings nifty features, they are also bringing really problematic issues, and these issues get worse with each update. Glad you don’t treat the computer updates this way.

Well Know Anti-Abortion Activist Shot & Killed

Posted in Michigan, abortion by Wade Moline on September 11, 2009

UPDATE: James Poullion was killed for his beliefs and his protesting according to police. Owosso man was looking to settle scores with killings, say authorities

For at least a decade I have seen James Poullion standing in various locations throughout Shiawassee County in Michigan holding his anti-abortion signs. His graphic pictures of aborted babies initially created a storm of controversy and he became a figure you either honked at, or gave the finger to when you passed him.

He has been arrested more than once and has had injunctions filed against him to keep him from holding up his signs in front of places like Owosso City Hall and the Young’s Olds-Cadillac dealership. After the initial controversy, he became not a celebrity, but more of a fixture in our area. Whether or not you agree with his graphic signs and his sometimes confrontational nature, you have to wonder, how many women changed their minds over the last decade and did NOT have an abortion because of him.

The news this morning took me by surprise. James was shot and killed in front of the Owosso High School earlier this morning, motive unknown at this time but a suspect is in custody.

Right Michigan asks a really good question, BREAKING: Anti-Abortion Activist Shot And Killed In Owosso. Will He Get Air Time That Tiller Got? I highly doubt it. Those who get killed for killing babies makes for better news than those who are killed trying to save babies. That is our mixed up world we live in. We need to change that.

And speaking of Tiller, where are the media stories over this murder? Where is the outrage?

9-11

Posted in 9-11, Islam, jihad, terrorism by Wade Moline on September 11, 2009

I wrote this on the day after 9-11. I am moving this to the top for the anniversary of 9-11, a day I haven’t let myself forget, nor will I ever forget it or push it out of my mind.

You gave me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore, and I welcomed them with outstretched arm, my torch lighting their way to freedom. From all corners of the earth they have come. Millions have passed beneath my feet and into the safety of my harbor. For over two hundred years people of all kinds fleeing repression and danger of all kinds have sought the freedom of my shores and my cities.

My people in return have sent you money, tools, people with expertise, and aid during times of disaster. They saved you from the likes of Hitler with their young men, many of whom never returned to see my blessed shores or their homes and families again. They have rebuilt your cities and economies. Some of you were once enemies but now are friends and they treat you like friends should, helping every time you run into trouble.

Earthquakes, famine, fire, flood, and enemies have stopped and laid burdens on your countries, more than you can handle alone. Each time my people have responded without regard to their own lives leaving behind loved ones hoping to see them again knowing that some of them might not.

Whether you call it war, conflict, or police action, my people have been there for you ever since these shores have been declared free to all who would come and simply obey their rules. At times I think my people have let too many in and have overwhelmed some of their cities. Yet out of the goodness of their hearts they turn very few away. They even wrote documents declaring themselves and this sacred land free.

I admit, these have not been a perfect people. They have had their share of bad deeds to look back upon, and to remember not to do again. From treating the inhabitants before them as “savages” to enslaving people who did not have light skin. Even after setting the slaves free, they did not treat them well until certain men gave them equal rights, and even to this day there is hostility and open violence.

I cry during these times, but I cry now for my people, more than ever before. Recently, thousands lost their lives at the hands of a few. The two tallest buildings in the city that sets on the edge of my harbor were brought down by men who have an unbridled hatred of my people. Many of those sent to rescue them died also, making the ultimate sacrifice so that others might live. In times of war and peace my people have always given of themselves and given their lives to whomever needs help.

Now, who will come to their aid? Who will help them? Who will assist cleaning the city and make it the jewel of freedom that it has been for so many? Who will help remove the dead? Who will help catch the people responsible for this act of spite and hate? Who will be there for the helpers who have helped so many? I hope that those we have helped will return the favor given so many times over.

Will you help?

Lady Liberty.

Truthers Driving Me Crazy!

Posted in 9-11, Truthers, conspiracy theory, liberals by Wade Moline on September 3, 2009

north towerUPDATE 9/12. For all you Truthers who say the fires in the towers were not big enough or hot enough to weaken the steel to the point of collapse, if that is the case, what made all this smoke? Small fires do not create huge volumes of smoke, but a jet fuel fire and contents burning from a large fire will create huge amounts of smoke. Wake up Truthers, you are wrong!

All right all you “Truthers” out there. Here is a taste of your own conspiracy. First, comments that make no sense! My short rebuttal follows. By the way, if anybody has any info on thermolyte demolitions, please let me know. Oh, that was supposed to be thermite which is explained in the link at the bottom of this post.

Djedi, on September 3rd, 2009 Said:
Funny,
People fight for the right to be ignorant all in the name of “this is our memory”. Wow! NO jet fuel in the word could weaken the beams on the WTT’s in this fashion as to cause a demolition type felling of this type of structure. Who am I? A design scientist. After studying the effect for years, my consclusion is: These buildings were destroyed by a controled thermolyte demolition. Now take it or leave it but there is too much evidence to support my conclusion. Heat will not pulversive concrete. There should have been chunks and chunks of concrete but there was more dust and debris. Open your eyes and your minds. Study what other countries have found out about what happened. They did not censor the information. To those of you who want to believe this lie….
Baaaaaa! Baaaaaaa! Off to the slaughter you go….

Hey all you fire experts, where did the main support columns go? Did they melt too? What a bunch of numnuts !!!!

Fire can’t melt steel you wingnuts! How many campfires have been made out of steel?

Yeah, as for that pyromaniac moron towards the top (that would be me, Wade here). You obviously know absolutely nothing the steel in those buildings was made to withstand heat higher than the temperature of that burning fuel not to mention the fact that the buildings only burned four about 1.5 hours….YOU DO THE MATH, MORON. (I’ve been a steelworker for over 25 years and I know my steel) I also know that there is no possible way that those buildings would have collapsed in that short of time NOR would they have collapsed the way that they did!!! THAT WAS A DEMOLITION STYLE COLLAPSE!!!! If you can’t see and/or realize that then you are a blatant moron. I’m sick of all of you people that think people like us are crazy. You need to live outside the box and realize that this kind of crap happens all the time. An excuse for an unjust war, reason to be in every americans business at any time the government deems necessary (patriot act) You people need to wake up and smell the coffee….the government runs the people now not vice versa and it’s sad that people don’t realize the true degregation of the people in office and those who used to be in office. It was a set-up we either knew it was going to happen and did nothing or we ourselves had something to do with it. The damn planes didn’t even have any logo’s nor windows. The damn pentagon wasn’t even hit with a boeing 747 like they said. (there’s a security video that shows what hit the pentagon) not to mention how fast those buildings collapsed. If you don’t believe it was a set-up then YOU, my friend, are the moron!!!!

My rebuttal;

As I have stated in other forums, I am a 27 year veteran firefighter. Given the fuel load the planes were carrying, given the fuel load of the building (contents that burn) and the fact that the supporting steel was damaged and weakened by the impact of the planes to begin with, the steel supports would weaken rather quickly. Also, concrete weakens and spalls under intense heat. With the jet fuel, I would estimate that the temperatures inside the towers reached 1,200 to 1,500 degrees and maintained those temps until the towers fell.

No steel in the world can withstand those temperatures for a sustained period. The type of collapse can and does happen to both burning buildings and buildings under construction. It is called a “pancake” collapse. This occurs when load bearing beams lose support. The entire floor falls onto the floor below and that floor cannot withstand the sudden impact of all the weight from above. This floor in turn collapses onto the next and so on. As the weight adds up on the floors below the speed of the collapse increases.

There is no evidence of your so-called thermolyte demolition. Also, though heat does not pulverize concrete, it does spall and weaken under high fire temperatures. Ever seen a concrete road after a vehicle has burned on it? That effect is called spalling. It weakens the concrete. When you keep adding the weight of all that concrete and steel on more concrete in a collapse, the concrete IS pulverized and you get a fine dust. I have seen this happen with my own eyes.

Even demolition will leave other debris. So where are the desks and chairs and tables and other items? Pulverized by all that weight of all those floors collapsing. And your biggest hole in your “theory”, it would be logistically impossible to wire all those floors of both buildings to be brought down in such a precise manner for such an incident and have it timed just right. Since the planes flew into the buildings with such force and fire, how did the controlled demolitions get set off? The demolitions would have been destroyed as well as the means to set them off. Oops. Big hole there.

And oh, by the way, I did research on thermolyte demolition. Guess what. It appears there is no such thing other than in SCI-FI. Gotcha. Baaaa. I have the feeling you are not what you say you are.

You Truthers are nothing more than wack job conspiracy theorists with no concept of what a super-hot fire burning uncontrolled with no ventilation can do to a building. Any building. You are the sheep.

They have NO Right! (9/11 is OUR Memory)

Sherri, author of the above linked article, is right on with her commentary on Obama’s hijacking of 9/11. We cannot allow the worst terrorist attack on US soil to become something we shove under the rug to be forgotten in the name of only God knows what, Obama’s call to “service?” And this service won’t be voluntary if Obama gets his way, it will be mandatory for future generations to come.

Shame on Obama and shame on the left, liberals, and Democrats. Sherri is right, 9/11 is our memory and on that day many realized just how dangerous Islam is to our way of life. Do not forget this day or we are doomed to repeat history again.
