The following question came to mind today when discussing Obama with a friend who lives in Evanston, Illinois near Northwestern north of Chicago. We were talking about one of the reasons many people voted for Obama. One of those reasons was very popular from many people in both our parts of the US. By electing a black man we are showing the world we are ready. Ready for what. Well, no one could explain that when asked. But this is our question, based on why electing a black man shows the world we are ready (for what we don’t know yet and we don’t care what the world thinks of us for electing a black man).
