This whole thing is a crock. General Motors has resorted to corporate hostage taking, bribery, blackmail, and who knows what else. GM and Chairman Rick Wagoner know that the Democrats and Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm will fork over millions upon millions of dollars, all they have to do is wait them out until they cave in. The Democrats are stupid enough to fall for this tactic time after time.

Picture Change

I changed the picture at the top of my page for a reason. This picture that I took a few years ago at our small town Memorial Day Parade reflects America, specifically, small town America. This is where many Americans live. We are the ones that the left wing elitists only remember exist during election time. We are the ones that the left wing elitists think are not good enough to hold any office in the White House.

These are the parades that remind us of our fallen soldiers, the one that the left wing elitists have not only forgotten, but despise. The men in the photo are all veterans, the other ones that the left wing elitists have forgotten about, and also despise. These men are our heroes.

The people in the photo are proudly carrying the American flag. They are not ashamed of their country. They are not afraid to walk down Main Street of Smalltown, USA and carry the American flag and remember their fallen heroes and friends who saved us from our enemies and protected our rights to free speech, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness by giving their lives.

Now Obama wants to take away the right to free speech. We must not let him do that, and we must not resort to leftists tactics to protect our free speech.

This is really scary stuff. What they are saying is, any lefty can say what they want about John McCain and the Republicans and that is okay, but if anybody on the right says anything negative about Barack Obama or contradicts or disagrees with him, those people are subject to prosecution.

Not only that, they are using their law enforcement positions to not only potentially prosecute McCain supporters, they are using their jobs to promote only Obama and their personal agendas. This so totally against our right to free speech that the state must step in and stop these thugs tactics that take away the right of free speech.

The Even Darker Side of Michigan

According to The American Manufacturing Trade Action Coalition, Michigan’s job loss is worse than we thought. According to the AMTAC report, Michigan lost 470,600 jobs between June 2000 and June 2008 (QUICK FACT SHEET FOR “MICHIGAN’S WORSENING EIGHT-YEAR DEPRESSION: PAYING THE PRICE FOR $1 TRILLION IN U.S. AUTO-TRADE LOSSES”).

We knew the news was bad here in Michigan, but this is not good at all. Michigan needs a turn around boost of some type. The automotive industry is not the answer. Alternative energy sources may be the answer. Flint’s new bio-gas facility just might be the start, and the answer, as it is supposed to employ 700 people. Obviously, these 700 jobs plus the 300 jobs to build the Volt and Fuze motors in Flint, are not going to put a dent in the nearly 500,000 jobs lost in the last decade. But it is a start.

Rather than raise taxes on businesses and the people, Lansing needs to give incentives in the way of tax breaks. Giving them to the automotive industry is not the answer though with dismal car sales and increasing car prices. This is where the automakers just don’t get it, and neither does the government. Tougher federal regulations for safety and fuel milage have driven up the cost of cars making most unaffordable for the working class people. Meanwhile, the automakers continue to give their CEOs outrageous benefits and bonuses. This is not going to change as long as both the government and the automakers continue down the street they are on, the one to higher prices and higher jobs losses.

If converting human waste to bio-gas turns out to be affordable, and not raise prices of goods (like corn made ethanol does), this type of conversion might be the way to go. There is plenty, and always will be plenty, of crap to convert. If Flint’s effort works, Flint might be able to pave the way for affordable and readily available alternative energy for the rest of the state and create a new market that could bring jobs to all of Michigan’s metro areas.

But I won’t hold my breath. The majority of Michigan’s job creation ventures have been failures. If this works, maybe I will need to hold my breath.

Democrats, you love Hollywood so much you think that questions regarding Sarah Palin’s thoughts on dinosaurs is a legitimate political question! Democrats, you say you are for women, yet you gave Hillary the boot and have done nothing but tell lies and slander Sarah Palin. Democrats, you say Sarah has no right to be vice-president because she has kids, didn’t get an abortion, and comes from a small town, yet you say you are for family, and the common working class people, including those in small towns.

Okay, so I got carried away and got off point. But maybe that is the point, what Obama says is never what he does, who Obama associates with, is who he is. Plain and simple. Obama has two faces and a forked tongue. Actually, that would be two forked tongues since he has two faces.
